Hello and welcome to Craft Media Workshop!
/Craft Media Workshop is finally open for business! Its raison d'etre is to create communications and content for small business that are affordable and hassle-free and most importantly - increase the bottom line! My name is Lyn Collie and I'm the brains/lunatic behind Craft Media Workshop. After a decade working in New Zealand's top business school - teaching, communicating and making content - I decided to break free, take what I'd learned and apply it in the 'real' world.
I'm particularly passionate about working with entrepreneurial lady-businesses. Women are doing amazing things as entrepreneurs right now, whether right out of school, mid-career or as a way of making retirement more interesting and lucrative. No one knows better than we do what we want and what we need! This is a highly dynamic and very exciting new sector and I'm beyond delighted to be a part of it. I'm also excited to work with female sole traders - I'm very aware of the practical constraints many women face as they balance a business with other demands. If that's you, I'd love to work with you to provide manageable communications solutions that focus on driving new business without masses of time or expense.
I'm also really into helping local businesses gain traction and find their place in the community, or get fresh ideas to take things to the next level. Local businesses are such an important part of what makes an area unique. K-Road, right in my hood, is a great example - it's fast becoming foodie heaven, with loads of interesting new companies providing innovative eating and social experiences. Recently I was privileged to help a former student, Sammy Akuthota, with a communications project for his second Indian tapas bar, Satya Chai Lounge (271 K-Road). Now I'm addicted to their paneer and to the cocktails - these are designed to surprise and delight and really deliver! If you think your business could also benefit from new ideas about how to broaden, locate and reach your customer base, give me a shout!
